Professional Negligence

The majority of chambers' work in the arena of professional negligence concerns litigation about the alleged negligence of solicitors. Various members of chambers practise in this area and are very often able to bring their own experience and specialism to a particular case. Very often, of course, the negligence of barristers will also be an issue.

In addition, however, there are members of chambers with substantial experience of surveyors' and valuers' negligence, accountants' negligence, bankers' negligence, receivers' negligence, and the negligence of brokers and financial advisors.

Members of these chambers are known for their practical and cost-effective approach, and their understanding of the particular sensitivities that such litigation engenders.

In addition, several members of chambers have particular experience of acting in professional disciplinary matters. The discipline of chartered accountants is a particular specialism, but members of chambers also act regularly in respect of solicitors' and barristers' disciplinary proceedings.

Practitioners in the group act both for insurers and claimants.

Members of chambers give regular seminars and talks on development in the law and practice of professional negligence, and are always delighted to tailor a talk to the particular requirements of an individual firm of solicitors. We are accredited by the Law Society to provide CPD points.
