Summary Of Practice

Sebastian was called to the bar in 1999.  His main areas of practice are:

Clinical Negligence & Personal Injury
Sebastian has a well established personal injury practice, and acts for Claimants and Defendants in more or less equal measure.  He often acts on a conditional fee basis.

He has considerable experience in employers’ liability actions, claims against highway authorities, occupiers and private landlords, as well as highways actions.  He is also experienced in industrial disease litigation, fatal accident claims, and, because of his employment law practice, he has an advantage in claims with overlapping personal injury and employment law issues (for example stress at work claims, or quantum and jurisdictional issues).

Sebastian’s clinical negligence practice involves a wide range of claims, including claims against dentists.

Sebastian also appears at coroners’ inquests, and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel.

Employment
Sebastian has extensive experience in claims involving TUPE and discrimination complaints, unfair and wrongful dismissal and breach of contract.  He regularly attends employment tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal to represent both claimants and respondents.  He also undertakes advisory work and ‘litigation prevention’.

Sebastian’s personal injury experience gives him an advantage in claims with overlapping personal injury issues.

Public, Local Government & Environmental
Sebastian’s practice includes conducting local authority prosecutions and appeals against environmental health and health and safety prohibition notices.
