Summary Of Practice
Clinical negligence
Sarah acts for both Claimants and Defendants. She has significant experience in cases involving MRSA (Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus), infection, Intensive Care, vascular surgery as main specialties. Other areas of particular experience: psychiatry, orthopaedics, neuro-surgery, general medicine, ophthalmology and gastroenterology cases.
Coronial law
Sarah has a particular interest in coronial law and has significant experience of Coroner’s inquests, representing the bereaved, the insurers or potential defendants. Many of the cases are precursor inquests to potential clinical negligence claims.
Personal injury
Sarah also acts for Claimants and Defendants in fast and multi-track cases covering road traffic accidents, accidents at work, occupiers’ liability and claims on the Highway.
Sarah frequently undertakes work on a CFA basis, for both clinical negligence and personal injury work.
Residential Institutions Redress Board
Sarah further acts for Applicants in cases involving a claim for redress through the Residential Institutions Redress system in Dublin, Ireland. She has now significant experience in this field. She is also familiar with applications to the Review Committee in relation to the same redress.
Applications for a Declaration to the High Court
In medically based cases involving patients in NHS care, Sarah acts on behalf of either the NHS Trust or the family of the patient involved e.g. the seeking of a Declaration to cease artificial ventilation.

Other Information
Sarah works as a volunteer animal socialiser at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home at weekends, often fosters animals for the Home and has a number of animals herself. She also plays classical (and now jazz) piano and makes her own wine.
