Safia accepts instructions in all areas of chambers work, with a particular emphasis on the following:
Employment
Safia regularly advises and acts on behalf of both Claimants and Respondents in all areas of employment law, including unfair and wrongful dismissal, all forms of discrimination (including sex, race, disability, religion and sexual orientation), breach of contract, TUPE, and redundancy.
Safia recently spent three months as in-house counsel in the employment department of a commercial solicitors firm, where she was involved in a range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
Personal Injury
Safia’s personal injury practice includes injuries arising from road traffic accidents, trips and slips, and accidents at work. She advises and acts for both claimants and defendants, and is happy to undertake work under a Conditional Fee Arrangement.
Safia also has experience of appearing before the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeal Panel.
Education
Safia is developing a practice in education law, appearing before the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST). She advises on a range of matters relating to a child’s Statement of Special Educational Needs, and also on disability discrimination issues.
Contract
Safia undertakes work for both claimants and defendants in a range of contractual disputes.
