Personal Injury
Orlando acts for Claimants and Defendants in fast and multi-track cases covering road traffic accidents, accidents at work, occupiers’ liability, product liability, and claims on the Highway. He frequently undertakes work on a CFA basis. In addition to appearing in the County Court and High Court, he regularly appears in front of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel and has represented a number of applicants in claims to the Residential Institutions Redress Board in Dublin.
Employment
Orlando’s employment practice encompasses all areas of employment law including unfair, constructive and wrongful dismissal, all forms of discrimination (particularly on the grounds of sex, race and disability), TUPE, breach of contract, ‘Wages Act’, and holiday claims. In addition to regularly appearing in the employment tribunal, Orlando has had the benefit of a 5 month secondment to the employment department of a commercial set of solicitors. Whilst there, he advised on a full range of contentious and non-contentious work.
Landlord & Tenant / Housing
Orlando undertakes advisory and court work for tenants and landlords (whether social, commercial or private). Typically, this involves possession and disrepair proceedings.
