Alex joined chambers from his previous chambers 1 Gray’s Inn Square. Before commencing pupillage, Alex worked as a County Court Advocate, appearing daily in County Courts, the RCJ and in the Bankruptcy and Companies Court. During this time, he also regularly represented services personnel with the Royal British Legion in the War Pensions and Compensation Tribunal.
He has a broad civil practice, with regular court advocacy and a developing paperwork practice.
Alex is regularly instructed in property and housing cases, representing both private and social landlords and tenants. He has considerable experience in possession and rent arrears cases, including commercial possession, secure tenancies, AST possession, mortgage possession, trespass, LPA receiver possession and in personal and commercial forfeiture proceedings.
He has experience drafting pleadings, applications and witness statements in these areas, and he also regularly advices on a range of residential and commercial property matters, including guarantees and border disputes.
Alex has recently been instructed to assist the Government Legal Service with the Grenfell Inquiry. This has included working with the Department for Communities and Local Government and the Home Office.
