Alex is currently on secondment to the international arbitration team of a leading law firm in Dubai. In this role, Alex works as lead counsel on a number of multi-million dollar commercial arbitrations, with an emphasis on complex construction disputes throughout the Middle East. His cases involve a number of high-profile property development projects, and his clients include major building contractors and developers in the Dubai construction sector. His work includes advising on complex jurisdictional and procedural issues within the arbitration process, including enforcement of awards.
Before Alex commenced his secondment, he had a busy court and paperwork practice, covering a range of civil and common law matters, though increasingly with a focus on commercial and contractual disputes, and property litigation.
Alex also has experience representing clients and drafting pleadings in a range of cases involving RTAs and personal injury, including regarding credit-hire claims. He also represents clients in CICA hearings, stage 3 hearings, interim applications and case management hearings (including CCMCs). Alex also has experience drafting pleadings and advising on liability, quantum and procedure in a range of PI matters.
Alex recently assisted the Government Legal Service with the Grenfell Inquiry. This included working with the Department for Communities and Local Government and the Home Office.
