Catrin joined chambers in October 2022 following completion of her pupillage. She has a busy practice spanning private family law, employment and housing. Prior to pupillage, Catrin worked as a paralegal at two leading law firms, working in teams specialising in financial remedy, private children and international family law. Catrin read Law at the University of Oxford, and subsequently completed her BPTC LLM at the University of Law.

Family Law

Private children law

Catrin regularly represents parents in contested contact disputes, and her experience includes cases where a Guardian has been appointed, parental alienation, non-Hague relocation, and cases involving serious allegations of domestic abuse, including sexual abuse of a non-subject child. Her background as a family paralegal has given her extensive experience in private children cases with an international element, including assisting with cases involving the inherent jurisdiction, and non-Hague abduction.

Financial remedies

Catrin has experience with financial remedies, taking matters from first appointment through to contested final hearings. Her experience includes matters concerning non-engagement of a respondent, dissipation of matrimonial assets, and interveners. Her experience as a family paralegal has given her experience beyond her year of call with jurisdictional issues and international considerations.

Employment Law

Catrin accepts instructions for both claimants and respondents in a broad range of employment matters, including discrimination and unfair dismissal. During pupillage, she successfully represented a claimant in her claim for automatic unfair dismissal (Yeliz Cetinkaya v DAM Group UK Ltd. 2207494/2021). More recently, she successfully represented a respondent in a disability discrimination claim (H Thompson v Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd. 3306808/2021).

Housing Law

Catrin accepts instructions on behalf of both landlords (private and social) and tenants in a broad range of landlord and tenant cases. Her experience includes possession proceedings, anti-social behaviour, Equality Act challenges and disrepair. She also accepts instructions in TOLATA cases which allows her to link together her experience in family law with her property experience.
