Following a mixed early practice in criminal, family and immigration, Charlotte now specialises exclusively in family law.  She is instructed in both public and private children law matters acting for parents and children, through their Guardian.  She has been led by senior juniors and KCs on matters relating to suspected non-accidental injuries and allegations of sexual abuse.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Charlotte worked in Malawi with a human rights NGO focused on access to justice and penal reform.  Her work in Malawi led Charlotte to found the Malawi Bail Project, an access to justice charity empowering those arrested for minor criminal offences to exercise their right to bail - www.malawibailproject.com.  She has continued to work with organisations in Malawi over the last 12 years.  In 2019 she spent 7 weeks assisting a High Court Judge in Malawi through the Inner Temple Pegasus Trust Scholarship and in November 2023, spent a week in Malawi training 80 police officers on the law and best practice on bail.
