Eleanor undertook pupillage at 42 Bedford Row and has been a tenant since 2016. She has a broad civil practice and accepts instructions in the following areas:
Eleanor provides advocacy and advice on a range of clinical negligence and personal injury matters, including those involving children. She represents both claimants and defendants in County Court and High Court actions, and has experience working with vulnerable witnesses and interpreters.
Eleanor undertakes a wide range of written work with a particular focus on drafting pleadings and advising on liability and quantum in industrial disease, occupier’s liability, and failure to diagnose claims.
Eleanor has conducted numerous, multi-day, discrimination, whistleblowing, breach of contract, and unfair dismissal claims, including those involving costs awards. She represents both claimants and respondents and undertakes work for a variety of clients, from previously unrepresented individual claimants to large, international businesses.
Eleanor has attended inquests on behalf of a range of interested parties and is willing to do so on a pro-bono basis in appropriate circumstances.
Eleanor acts for individuals, companies, and partnerships in general commercial and contractual disputes, including those involving agency, contractual interpretation, sale of goods/services, misrepresentation, and Consumer Credit Act and Consumer Rights Act claims.
Eleanor has appeared in the Companies Court and in winding up petitions. She acts in bankruptcy petitions, applications under the Insolvency Act/Companies Act, and applications for charging orders and orders for sale. She undertakes cases concerning commercial and personal debt recovery, including applications for committal in the County Court and High Court.
She has an established written work practice in the above areas, including advising and drafting pleadings and applications.
Eleanor is instructed by local authorities and housing associations in possession claims involving rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, unauthorised occupation or subletting, and procurement of a tenancy by fraud. She provides advocacy and advice in relation to disrepair claims.
She also acts in disputes concerning private sector tenancies and long leaseholds, including disrepair, forfeiture and service charges.
