Helen returned to Chambers in 2013, having previously completed her pupillage at 42BR Barristers under the supervision of Richard Furniss and Damian Woodward-Carlton. Helen has established a broad-based practice and accepts instructions in all key areas of Chambers’ work, with particular focus on:

Employment and Professional Disciplinary Law

Helen represents Claimants and Respondents in core areas of employment law including discrimination, unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, redundancy, pay claims and whistle blowing. Employment Appeal Tribunal experience. Her practice has been informed, in part, by experience gained prior to the Bar through voluntary work for the Free Representation Unit and Citizens’ Advice Bureau. As a natural adjunct to Employment Law, Helen is particularly interested in developing her professional disciplinary practice. Of note, Helen has gained invaluable expertise working in-house for two of the UK’s largest medical regulators’ fitness to practise departments. Her experience includes conducting interim and substantive hearings.

Family Law

Helen is regularly instructed in all aspects of family law: ancillary relief, public children, private children and domestic violence. FPC, County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal experience. Member of FLBA.
