Lisa Henderson QC (Scot) was called to the Scottish Bar in 1995, taking Silk in 2016.
She was called to the England and Wales Bar in 2019. Lisa specialises in clinical negligence and complex personal injury claims involving catastrophic injury, such as amputation, brain damage and spinal injury. She has extensive experience in birth injury claims.
She is instructed in cases involving all aspects of personal injury law including employer’s liability, occupier’s liability, road traffic accidents, sexual abuse, stress at work, industrial disease, and product liability. The majority of her work involves very complex medical or legal issues. She has been instructed as lead counsel and negotiated settlements in many multi-million pound claims.
Lisa achieved Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 2019 and has experience in international arbitration. She is an ambassador for the Scottish Arbitration Centre.

Lisa is the author of and former lead tutor, on the personal injury elective for Edinburgh University’s Diploma in Legal Practice [2011 and 2017]. She is a former honorary senior lecturer at Glasgow University School of Medicine [2012- 2018] and was a visiting lecturer at Pavia University, Italy, in 2014 and 2015.
Lisa has taught at Aberdeen University School of Law and is regularly invited to chair or present at professional conferences. She teaches advocacy skills on a regular basis and is currently Vice Chair of the British American Project UK Executive Committee. She is a member of Ampersand Advocates in Edinburgh.
