We are regulated by the Bar Council and the Bar Standards Board (BSB) to provide legal services in England and Wales. Chambers and its barristers are governed by the Code of Conduct as outlined in Part Two of the Bar Standards Handbook January 2014 1st Edition.

Employers’ Liability Insurance
42BR Barristers is insured for Employers’ Liability for £10m with Sterling Insurance Company
42BR Barristers is insured for Public Liability for £10m with Sterling Insurance Company
Professional Indemnity Insurance
Every barrister must have professional indemnity insurance and this is provided by the Bar Mutual Indemnity Fund (BMIF) which provides cover to individual barristers for a minimum £500,000 and up to £2.5m. Members of chambers may choose to take additional top up insurance cover depending on their practice requirements. Details of this additional cover can be supplied upon request.
