Alexandra is a specialist barrister in family law, with over a decade of courtroom experience in both public and private law proceedings. Before joining the Bar, Alexandra practised as a solicitor for over 10 years and has held key advocacy roles in several London boroughs.
She regularly appears in hearings involving contested Interim Care Orders, Issues Resolution, and final determinations. Her practice includes urgent applications, such as out of hours Emergency Protection Orders and Deprivation of Liberty authorisations. Alexandra is known for her fearless representation, strategic litigation, and commitment to safeguarding vulnerable children and families. She has a particular interest in cases involving forced marriage and FGM.
Alexandra has extensive experience representing parents in both public and private law proceedings, including applications for child arrangements, specific issue orders, and prohibited steps orders.
Alexandra also has experience in financial remedy proceedings, having represented clients within private practice in disputes involving matrimonial assets, maintenance, and enforcement.
Alexandra began her legal career in criminal practice and obtained Criminal Higher Rights of Audience as a solicitor advocate. She has appeared in both Magistrates’ and Crown Court proceedings, representing clients in cases involving serious violence, sexual offences, and drug-related crime.
Alexandra is regularly instructed in public law children matters, acting for local authorities and parents in complex and sensitive proceedings. She has advocacy experience across all stages of care proceedings, including contested Interim Care Orders, Issues Resolution Hearings, case management, and final hearings.
Her cases frequently involve serious allegations such as non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, neglect, and domestic violence. She is known for her calm and focused advocacy in multi-party cases. She is trusted by local authorities for high-stakes emergency advocacy.
Alexandra is also instructed in urgent applications before the High Court, including Emergency Protection Orders, Deprivation of Liberty authorisations, and Recovery Orders. She is trusted to act in out-of-hours hearings and is experienced in managing high-pressure situations requiring swift and strategic decision-making.
Alexandra has significant experience representing parents in private law proceedings, including applications for child arrangements, specific issue orders, and prohibited steps orders. She has acted in cases involving findings of serious allegations of domestic abuse, coercive control, and substance misuse.
Her approach is both empathetic and robust, ensuring that her clients are supported through emotionally charged disputes while maintaining a clear focus on the child’s welfare. Alexandra is experienced in navigating complex family dynamics and is skilled at managing cases where safeguarding concerns intersect with private law applications.
