James joined 42BR in May 2025 as Practice Manager in the Civil Team, having gained 10 years clerking experience at other sets of Chambers. His key responsibilities include diary management, fixing cases, fee negotiation, and contributing to the progression of members' practices. His role also includes assisting in business development and maintaining positive relationships with clients.

Outside of Chambers James splits his time between restoring his Triumph GT6 and surfing in Cornwall.
