Introduction

Katherine joined 42 Bedford Row after successfully completing pupillage in chambers. She has a wide range of experience in civil and family law. Before joining chambers, Katherine worked as a judicial assistant to two Court of Appeal judges.

Family Law

Katherine has a busy Family Law practice which covers:  

  • Private Law Children
  • Public Law Children
  • Financial Remedies
  • International Family Law
  • Family Law Act 1996
  • TOLATA

She has experience representing clients up to and including the High Court, both as sole counsel and as junior counsel. She has a strong record of successfully pursuing and defending allegations of serious domestic abuse, including sexual abuse. She prides herself on providing robust and thorough representation whilst remaining approachable and empathetic during what are often very difficult circumstances for her clients.

Reported Cases

As a pupil, Katherine worked on the High Court case of A Local Authority v AG and Others [2020] EWFC 18 & [2020] EWHC 1346 (Fam) 747 (dealing with the interaction of diplomatic immunity and care proceedings).

Employment Law

Katherine accepts instructions in all areas of employment law with experience of working on cases involving TUPE, discrimination, equal pay and wrongful and unfair dismissal.

Administrative Law

Katherine has recently acted as junior counsel in the Court of Appeal in a sexual misconduct case, challenging the decisions of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal.

Property and Housing Law

Katherine accepts instructions on behalf of both landlords (private and social) and tenants in a broad range of landlord and tenant actions. She has recently acted as junior counsel advising on the implications of evolving Government policy for resettling refugees.

Katherine also accepts instructions in TOLATA cases where the combination of her family law and property law experience proves particularly helpful.
