In this case Gemma Taylor QC leading Philip McCormack and representing the child by her children’s guardian successfully resisted an appeal brought by the Local Authority heavily criticising a judgment of the Recorder and the position taken by the guardian at trial. The Court of Appeal offered clear support for a position whereby “if long term foster care ‘will do’ then pursuing adoption won’t.”
