Chambers is delighted to welcome Caroline Landes as a new member of our Family Law team. Caroline qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and has specialised for the last 31 years in the area of family law and in particular cases concerning children. Caroline has been accredited by the Law Society as a specialist member of their Children Panel since 1995. She was also previously a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel and was a family mediator for some 18 years.

Caroline was the winner of the Kent Law Society Outstanding Achievement Award in 2016 and in the same year was shortlisted for the Law Society Excellence Awards. Caroline very recently left  solicitor’s private practice where she was deputy head of the Family Law department and Head of Children and Domestic Abuse at McMillan Williams Solicitors Ltd. She was called to the Bar by Grays Inn in July 2019.

Caroline specialises in public law children work and as a solicitor in practice was instructed by Guardians, parents, grandparents, foster carers and siblings. Caroline also has extensive experience in private children disputes including special guardianship and adoption; as well as divorce and financial remedy.

Caroline was appointed a Deputy District Judge in 2019 and sits on the South East circuit

In her “downtime” Caroline is a wife and mother to two wonderful (she would say that!) grown up children; an amateur ceramicist; a trustee of Magpie Dance a registered charity assisting those with learning difficulties through dance; a committee member of the Pink Buddies, who raise funds for Breast Cancer Haven; an avid member of a book group and theatre goer.
