Polly was called to the Bar in 2013. Prior to commencing pupillage, Polly Allison worked as a paralegal in a leading law firm specialising in mental capacity law where her work was highly regarded. She also volunteered at the National Centre for Domestic Violence, supporting vulnerable clients and drafting legal documents.
Polly is instructed in both public and private children law matters, acting for local authorities, parents and children, through their Guardians. She has been led by senior juniors in proceedings and fact-finding hearings concerning allegations of non-accidental injuries and allegations of sexual abuse.

Polly has a diverse, thriving family law practice, with a focus on public law Children Act proceedings. Her extensive experience in this area reassures clients of her competence and dedication. She regularly represents parents, local authorities, and guardians, and has appeared in all levels of the family court. Polly’s practice includes cases involving non-accidental injuries, allegations of sexual, physical and emotional abuse, neglect, mental health, substance misuse, domestic violence, international placements, adoption and deprivation of liberty.
Private Law
Polly’s practice is broad and balanced, representing both applicants and respondents in private law proceedings. This approach ensures that all parties receive fair and robust representation, enhancing the trust and confidence of her clients. Polly also regularly accepts instructions for Rule 16.4 Guardians.
