Raminder Khasriya is ranked as a Leading Junior in the Legal 500 for Children Law. She specialises exclusively in family law, with particular expertise in complex public law proceedings involving children. She regularly appears in the Family Court and High Court representing local authorities, parents, children (through their Children’s Guardians), and intervenors.
Raminder has extensive experience in cases involving serious safeguarding concerns, including allegations of physical and sexual abuse, non-accidental injury, neglect, domestic abuse, fabricated or induced illness, parental mental health, and complex child protection issues. Raminder is regularly instructed in complex High Court proceedings involving deprivation of liberty, inherent jurisdiction applications, and serious safeguarding concerns, and is increasingly recognised for her expertise in this specialist area of children law.
Prior to joining the Bar in 2020, Raminder practised as an in-house Solicitor Advocate for a busy Berkshire local authority. This experience provides her with an exceptional understanding of local authority decision-making, care planning, and child protection processes. She is known for providing practical, strategic advice and effective advocacy whilst maintaining a strong focus on securing the best outcomes for children and families.
Raminder is recognised for her meticulous preparation, approachable manner and persuasive advocacy. She has extensive experience representing vulnerable clients, including those acting through the Official Solicitor, and is equally adept at representing local authorities, parents and Children’s Guardians in complex and emotionally challenging proceedings.
She accepts instructions on both a legally aided and privately funded basis and is qualified to accept instructions under the Public Access scheme.
Family Law
Raminder’s practice is dedicated to proceedings concerning children. The majority of her work consists of public law care proceedings under the Children Act 1989, acting for local authorities, parents and Children’s Guardians from urgent interim hearings through to contested final hearings.
