Prior to joining 42BR as a Probationary Tenant, Sophie successfully completed her pupillage at a leading regional set with a focus on family law, also gaining experience in civil law.
Sophie accepts instructions across all areas of family law. She is regularly instructed in private children law matters, including contact disputes, multi day fact-finding and final hearings, and domestic abuse non-molestation and occupation order proceedings. She is frequently kept on as counsel throughout cases, and has been praised for her client care. Sophie is eager to expand her practice in divorce and financial remedy proceedings, and public children law.
Sophie also accepts instructions in a number of civil matters. During her pupillage, Sophie was instructed on several small claims trials arising from road traffic accidents, stage 3 hearings, relief from sanctions, and possessions.
Before Pupillage, Sophie worked as a private family law paralegal at a leading Legal 500 firm in London. During this time, she assisted on private children law, divorce and financial remedies, and conducted court advocacy in non-molestation and occupation order proceedings.
Sophie completed her Law Conversion and Bar Course at The City Law School, and was called to the Bar in 2024. During her time at City, Sophie volunteered with The School Exclusion Project, advocating on behalf of children and families to challenge permanent exclusions.
Before coming to the Bar, Sophie was a theatre producer and manager, having studied Theatre and Performance at the University of Leeds, and was the Treasurer of the Inner Temple Drama Society for three years.
