Eleanor specialises in clinical negligence, personal injury, and employment. She represents clients in the employment tribunal, high court, county court, and various appellate courts and is often commended for being approachable, pragmatic, and commercially minded. 

She has been ranked for a number of years in The Legal 500. 

Clinical Negligence

Eleanor provides robust advocacy and advice on a range of clinical negligence matters, acting for both claimants and defendants, in public and private healthcare setting. She has a broad practice, accepting instructions in claims involving, for example, GPs, midwives, dentists, podiatrists, physiotherapists, and NHS Trusts.

Eleanor has a busy multi-track court practice and regularly advises in conference and on paper in complex cases. She frequently attends joint settlement meetings and mediations. 

Eleanor is experienced in work involving fatalities, children, vulnerable witnesses, and foreign nationals.

Where appropriate, she will consider accepting instructions on a CFA basis. 

Recent cases

  • Acting for 6 GPs and an NHS Trust in a claim involving bladder damage (case ongoing)
  • Acting for a child claimant in respect of a claim arising from failure to diagnose necrotising pneumonia (case ongoing)
  • Acted for the claimant (and subsequently the executor upon his death) in a fatal claim involving delayed diagnosis of cancer (completed 2026)
  • Acted for the executor in a fatal claim involving negligent care provided by a care home and a local authority (completed 2025)

Personal Injury

Eleanor has considerable experience acting for both claimants and defendants across a broad range of road traffic, public liability, and employers’ liability claims. She has a busy multi-track court practice and regularly advises on complex personal injury matters, including those involving serious and catastrophic injuries.

She has extensive experience in dealing with cases where fundamental dishonesty and fraud are alleged. 

Eleanor is regularly instructed to attend joint settlement meetings and mediations. 

Eleanor’s practice includes:

  • Claims under the Fatal Accidents Act and the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act;
  • Road traffic accident trials involving low-velocity impacts, multi-vehicle collisions, and foreign insurance;
  • Claims against employers, including for industrial disease, and those against multi-national employers;
  • Claims arising from accidents onboard aircraft; and
  • Claims against occupiers including local authorities, leisure clubs, householders, and major retailers.

Where appropriate, she will consider accepting instructions on a CFA basis. 

She is a member of PIBA and AvMA. 

Recent cases

  • Acting for a claimant in a claim for disabling orthopaedic injuries and psychiatric damage following an accident on a construction site which killed the claimant’s colleague (ongoing)
  • Acted for the administrator following her father’s fatal accident at work involving heavy machinery (settled 2025)
  • Acted for a claimant in a claim for psychiatric damage and alcohol dependency following an accident at a construction site (settled 2025)

Employment Law

Eleanor accepts instructions in all areas of employment law, representing a wide range of clients including individuals, charities, local authorities, banks, supermarkets, FTSE 100 companies, the NHS, the London Fire Commissioner, and transport sector organisations including Transport for London and Network Rail. She is adept at acting for respondents in claims brought by litigants in person.

She has significant experience of cases involving discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal (including constructive dismissal), breach of contract (including restrictive covenants and wrongful dismissal), redundancy, TUPE, working time, wage claims (including holiday pay), and disputed employment status. 

Eleanor provides straightforward and practical advice on settlement and litigation tactics and is regularly instructed to attend judicial mediations and dispute resolution appointments. 

Eleanor provides training to solicitors and companies; both seminars on legal issues and practical workshops on litigation.

  • C v CTS Limited (anonymised) – representing the claimant in a claim for pregnancy and maternity discrimination, detriment related to pregnancy childbirth or maternity, automatic unfair dismissal, and unfair dismissal (ongoing)
  • Mr N Gordon v London Fire Commissioner 2304476/2023– successfully defended claims for race discrimination, harassment, and victimisation (completed 2025)
  • Ms D Sangster v Stopwatch UK 2303207/2023 – represented the claimant pursuing claims for direct disability, sex, and age discrimination, harassment related to disability, and victimisation (completed 2025)
