Amanda Jepson defended an appeal in the Court of Appeal case, K & D (Children: Sexual Abuse Findings) [2025] EWCA Civ 263

Amanda Jepson successfully defended an appeal in the Court of Appeal in K & D (Children: Sexual Abuse Findings) [2025] EWCA Civ 263 (18 March 2025).

This was a public law Children Act case involving allegations of sexual abuse, with two intervenors and the parents in the possible pool of perpetrators.

The medical evidence was not conclusive of sexual abuse and the court had to look at the wider canvas in determining firstly whether sexual abuse occurred, and if so, whether the perpetrator could be identified, and if so, who was the perpetrator.

Amanda was acting for the local authority.
