Proposed changes of Adoption UK

42BR echo the concerns of Adoption UK - Adoption UK article. It is of significant concern that there is only a 2 year further commitment by the government to Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF), when we know there is already a significant shortage of adopters.

This time limited support will do little to allay concerns about the recruitment of prospective adopters.

Further, proposals risk a post code lottery for future funding of support.

Given the current adoption statistics show a worrying trend of children being returned to care from adoptive placements, with BBC figures saying 1,000 children have been returned to care in the last 5 years, more needs to be done.
