Permission Granted to Appeal to the Supreme Court

Permission Granted to Appeal to the Supreme Court

42BR Barristers is pleased to note that the Court of Appeal has granted permission for the Appellants to appeal to the Supreme Court in the case of Rice v Wicked Vision (Protect intervening) and Barton Turns Developments Ltd  v Treadwell [2025] EWCA Civ 1466.

The Court of Appeal decision can be found here.

Nicholas Bidnell-Edwards, who acts for the Barton Turns Developments Ltd, welcomes the decision, which will allow the Supreme Court to determine the important question of whether an employee can claim dismissal as a detriment under Section 47B of the Employment Rights Act 1996. Further updates will be provided as the appeal progresses.
