Jo was called to the Bar in 2010 after having a successful career as a solicitor dealing with public law children matters, working in-house for a local authority and then in private practice.
Since transferring to the Bar, Jo has a busy practice representing local authorities, parents, children and family members public law proceedings and adoption matters. Jo is also the co-author of Child Protection Proceedings: Care and Adoption Orders published by LexisNexis which is now in its second edition.
Family Law
Jo specialises in public law children work representing local authorities, parents, carers, and children. Jo regularly represents parties in complex matters dealing with child death, serious physical injuries, sexual abuse and neglect before the County Court and High Court. Jo has co-authored Child Protection Proceedings: Care and Adoption Orders published by LexisNexis which is now in its second edition. She has written for a variety of publications in relation to care proceedings and regularly speaks at seminars on various topics.
Jo is a Pro Bono Champion for Advocate and received a special mention in the category of Junior Barrister of the year at the Pro Bono Awards 2022.
