The final report of the Public Law Working Group published on 01.03.21 focused on Supervision Orders as standalone orders to assist the return of children home or to family members.
During this webinar, Jo Porter, will consider the findings of the report together with the current guidance on the use of Supervision Orders, including statistics around their use and outcomes for children. The proposed next steps will be explored, with an attempt to answer the question of whether Supervision orders are worth the paper they are printed on and where we are now.

When proceedings commence because a child is ‘beyond parental control’ to what extent is it necessary or helpful to pursue in addition threshold findings that a child has also suffered significant harm as a consequence of the care they have received?
