42BR's Housing Group is delighted to present their upcoming webinar series, comprising three sessions covering a variety of topics.
Note - you will need to register for each session using the individual links below.
Session 1
Wednesday 2 October from 6pm
Stefan Liberadzki and Andrew Carter introduce our Social Housing Webinar Series by discussing the keystone of any unlawful sub-letting case: whether the tenant is no longer using the property as their only or principal home. They review the established case law, explore how the case law is applied in practice, and discuss how best to present the evidence in Court.

Session 2
Tuesday 15 October from 5pm
In this webinar, Angela Piears and Karolina Zielinska will consider what to do if you suspect that a tenant has made fraudulent representations about who they are or where they are living, and offer their tips and tricks on preventative measures that can be used to prevent or discourage tenancy fraud from the outset of the landlord-tenant relationship.
Discussion will include:
- Evidence-gathering for use in court proceedings
- Remedies available in civil and criminal law, including unlawful profit orders
- How and when to carry out tenancy checks

Session 3
Tuesday 5 November from 5pm
Desmond Kilcoyne and Matthew Timm will examine several typical types of scenario where a fraudulent succession claim is made and the application of the relevant legal tests to those cases (e.g. whether a tenant in hospital who has serious illness satisfies the ‘only or principal home’ test and whether a would-be successor satisfies the ‘residing with’ test)
