Paul transferred to the Bar in 2021 following a successful career as a litigation solicitor, where Paul headed up the dispute resolution team at a leading law firm.
Paul regularly acts and advises in high value, complex proceedings both in the county courts and the High Court. Paul’s expertise covers property litigation (both residential and commercial), complex contract disputes, actions in negligence, company and commercial law, insolvency proceedings and contentious probate.
Paul is an Accredited Mediator and noted as a specialist in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Paul has settled hundreds of disputes over the years, using various means, including mediation and negotiation. Paul is adept at finding solutions to seemingly entrenched matters.
Paul is a member of 42BR's Animal Welfare team and is a trustee of his local RSPCA branch. In his role on the Animal Welfare team, Paul has written articles on Animal Law and advised clients on a pro-bono basis, reuniting underprivileged pet owners with their companion animals.
Paul is a Lexis Nexis expert, providing guidance on in property disputes and private client law. Paul is also a full member of both the Chancery Bar Association and the Property Bar Association. In 2024 Paul hosted a workshop at the Chancery Bar Association Annual Conference, alongside 42BR’s Iris Ferber KC.
Paul is qualified to represent clients on a “Direct Access” basis.
Outside of work Paul is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Paul regularly coaches fitness classes and competes (and judges) in CrossFit competitions.
Paul regularly acts for landlords and tenants alike in both residential and commercial property disputes. Paul’s expertise includes claims for possession of property and forfeiture proceedings, claims relating to the termination and renewal of commercial leases, disrepair and dilapidation claims, proceedings relating to breaches of rights of way (including injunctive proceedings) and claims against trespassers.
Paul represents companies, directors and shareholders in matters arising out of contract and negligence, as well as issues pertaining to companies’ internal affairs.
Paul also routinely acts and advises in disputed bankruptcy and corporate insolvency proceedings, as well as subsequent claims relating to the mismanagement of company business.
Paul is committed to advocating, enforcing and advancing the welfare of domestic and wild animals - and protecting natural habitats - both nationally and globally.
Paul is a trustee of his local RSPCA branch where he applied his legal skills and experience to help shepherd the charity through the Coronavirus pandemic. Today Paul assists the charity in a range of matters, including questions relating to leases of shop premises, staffing issues and the role and function of trustees within the statutory and regulatory framework.
In addition to his work as a trustee, Paul has written articles on Animal Law and advised clients in a range of animal related matters, including acting for veterinary clinics and representing pet owners in dog bite cases. Paul has also advised underprivileged pet owners on a pro-bono basis, reuniting them with their companion animals.
