Sharan was called to the Bar in 1999 and after completing pupillage developed a practice in all aspects of family law, with a particular emphasis on child protection work. She speaks fluent Punjabi.

Sharan is also involved in training and providing seminars to a wide ranging groups of professionals, including Local Authorities, Medical Professionals, the Police, Schools, Lawyers and many more.

Sharan was involved in the case Re H-W which was awarded Case of the Year at the Family Law Awards 2023.

Public Law

Sharan is a Barrister specialising in Care Proceedings. She has particular experience in complex matters involving the forensic analysis of often disputed expert evidence. She has extensive experience of cases involving

non accidental injuries(including where the injuries were caused by rare genetic mutations)/death of children,
allegations of sexual abuse
factitious illness
serious domestic violence.
Forced Marriage and matters involving Honour Based issues.
Hague and Non Hague Convention Abductions

Sharan will represent clients ranging from Local Authorities to Grandparents and has an ability to build a rapport with clients, no matter how delicate or difficult the situation.

She is regularly instructed on behalf of parents, local authorities and children’s guardians and has developed a reputation for being straightforward and forthright. Sharan’s experience in public law is extensive, ranging from emergency protection orders to secure accommodation orders and discharging care orders. Similarly, her experience in private law is also wide-ranging.
