Karolina joined 42BR following the successful completion of her pupillage in October 2023 and has developed a broad practice across chambers’ areas of civil expertise.

As sole counsel, Karolina is regularly instructed in a variety of housing matters up to and including trial (including possessions, injunctions, disrepair/EPA cases, committals), multi-day employment trials and commercial/contractual/property disputes.

Housing Law

Karolina regularly acts for landlords and tenants across the private and social housing sectors, from the initial drafting of pleadings to representation at hearings in a broad range of proceedings, including possessions, injunctions (including ASB) up to and including committal, and disrepair matters (including prosecutions under the EPA 1990).

Recent cases include:

  • The City of Westminster v Kulabi – successfully obtained a possession order at a 1-day final hearing, defeating a defence brought pursuant to Art 8 ECHR.
  • Carter v Midland Heart - acted for a successful Claimant in a 2-day social housing disrepair claim.
  • Drafting pleadings in a possession claim based on sustained social housing fraud over up to 20+ years, seeking recovery of unlawful profit of circa £45,000.
  • RBKC v Azhar & Ors – acted for a Claimant seeking ASB injunctions against alleged known and unknown gang members.

Most recently, Karolina co-presented a webinar entitled “Foiling the fraudsters – how to detect and collect evidence of tenancy fraud”, a recording of which can be found here.

Alternative Dispute Resolution

Karolina is an accredited Civil and Commercial mediator, having undertaken training at The Society of Mediators in January 2023.
